Banksy’s Dismaland: A Great Disneyland Parody

Banksy has released a dark promotional trailer for his seaside ‘bemusement park’ Dismaland as the ticket website crashed for a second time.
The clip, which lasts for two minutes and six seconds, was posted on the elusive Bristol artist’s website shortly after the ticket page went live for the exhibition in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset. It echoed many images seen in traditional Disneyland adverts as a family of four were seen leaving their semi-detached home for a day at the attraction in a derelict lido.
In this collaborative collection, and in his own art, Banksy uses satire and dark humor to portray political and social messages to the general public.

The “bemusement park” exhibits various artists, serving up subversive political commentary on a range of subjects, including surveillance, consumerism and Europe’s migrant crisis.
